JOINT INDO-KYRGYZ MILITARY EXERCISE KHANJAR-IV AT KYRGYZSTAN

During his visit to Kyrgyzstan in Jul 2015, Hon’ble PM of India appreciated Indo-Kyrgyz Joint Military Training Exercise Khanjar and commented that the same be held annually. Exercise Khanjar-III was conducted in Gwalior, India from 22 Mar to 04 Mar 2016. The previous two exercises had been conducted in Dec 2011 in Nahan, India and at Tokmok in Kyrgyzstan in Jul 2015.
Both sides have benefitted immensely from respective experiences in Special Forces Counter Terrorism operations in mountainous terrain. Pursuant to recommendation of the Hon’ble PM of India, the exercise has been made an annual affair.
Exercise Khanjar-IV was conducted in Kyrgyzstan from 20 Feb – 05 Mar 2017. Twenty Special Forces personnel participated from both sides and undertook joint drills, thereby benefiting from each other experiences. Exercise Khanjar-IV marks yet another milestone in the deep trust and confidence between the historic Indo-Kyrgyz friendship.
