Visit of FICCI delegation to Kyrgyzstan
The 5th Session of the India-Kyrgyz Republic Joint Business Council was held in Bishkek during March 18-19, 2014 organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) with the support of the Embassy of India in Kyrgyzstan. The meeting, attended by representatives of Indian companies dealing in the spheres of energy, IT, pharmaceuticals, logistics, mining, technical consultancy and about 50 Kyrgyz companies, discussed development of bilateral trade-economic cooperation and provided an opportunity to the entrepreneurs to establish direct contacts and assess one another's potential for future cooperation.
The Indian delegation visited the Special Economic Zone in Bishkek and held official meetings with the Ministers of Economy and Foreign Ministers, Temir Sariev and Erlan Abdyldayev, respectively, Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry Aibek Kaliev, Mayor of Bishkek City Kubanychbek Kulmatov and State Secretary in the Ministry of Health Paiza Suiumbaeva. The members of the Indian delegation also held bilateral meetings with their Kyrgyz counterparts and visited their respective set-up for discussing business opportunities. In his meeting with the Indian delegation, the Minister of Economy offered cooperation for export of dry fruits from Kyrgyzstan to India, cooperation in the field of metallurgy, dairy sector, establishment of a call centre in Kyrgyzstan with India's assistance and bilateral tourism, particularly mountain tourism and ecotourism.
