8th session of Intergovernmental Joint Commission held in Bishkek

8th session of Intergovernmental Joint Commission was held in Bishkek on 28th November 2016.

The Indian side was led by H.E. Ms. Rita Teaotia, Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Shri Sunil Kumar, JS (FT-CIS), Shri Sunil Kumar, Director APEDA and Shri Abhay Sinha, Regional Director, Pharmexcil accompanied the Commerce Secretary.

The Kyrgyz side was led by Deputy Minister for Health H.E. Mr. Amangeldy Murzaliev.

The two sides discussed possible areas of cooperation in the field of agriculture; health care & pharmaceuticals; textile & leather; information technology & communications; standardization, certificates and metrology; culture, information and tourism; education & science; and liberalization of visa regime.

The Commerce Secretary held meeting with the Minister for Economy H.E. Mr. Arzybek Kojoshev and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Azamat Usenov and discussed ways and means to improve trade and investment relations between the two countries. The Commerce Secretary also interacted with a few members of Indian and Kyrgyzstan Business community during her visit.
