The Mela has grown in stature and it attained an international status in 2013 and is now attracting more and more foreign participation. Every year, a country is also chosen to be the Partner Nation that showcases the best of its art, culture, traditions and heritage during the Mela fortnight. Like previous years, this year also a team of 19 Artists from Kyrgyz Republic was sponsored by the Government of India to participate in the Mela. The groups from Kyrgyzstan that participated were Musical Theatre "Taberik" Dance Ensemble "Kauhar" folk instruments ensemble "Akak" and craftsmen association "Agrarian Platform". The group’s performance was appreciated very much by the Indian viewers. This was yet another step taken by the Government of India to bring people of two countries together.
